  1. I'm essentially whole foods plant based (a Kind of vegan diet) eating significant raw foods daily and my joint laxity and rate of interest injury increased and decreased respectively when I went from omnivore to vegetarian to vegan. I feel damn great and I think alot of people fail to grasp the whole foods and raw foods aspect of becoming a healthy vegan.

This guy hasn't shown his blood tests at all since on this diet (see Joe rogans interview) and also he references the inuits being a good example of healthy meat eaters but their average age is only 27. I'd ask this guy some harder questions.

  2. Great video….very detailed and informative. I am keto for one year although some days meat only. I'm not ready to go full carnivore quite yet. Great to see all the options available to attain better health and aging alternatives. Thank you!

  3. Shawn is right that carbohydrate metabolism requires more vitamins and minerals.                                                                                                                                                 Vitamin C is similar to a glucose molecules and one is an antagonist to the other, so if you eat carbs you require more Vitamin C, even synthetic vitamin C is made from glucose and animals that have the active gene do the same in their bodies. The Masai and Inuit thrived over many generations on their all animal food diets, without eating any veggies.                                                                                                                                                    The egg issue is another vegan lie, the oldest French woman that lived to 122 ate three eggs a day and this 88 year old was still in good heath while eating around 25 eggs a day; please read this study:  http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199103283241306I did my own experiment, I ate for three days only 15 eggs a day and on the fourth day I had my blood tested and my total cholesterol was 3.2 mmol/l (124 mg/dl). If you decide to do it for yourself, don't do it while you are ill, because cholesterol goes up big time, because the immune system uses it for repair purposes. The more cholesterol you eat the less your liver creates. Also check out this vid:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8pybQjVeiQ                                                                                                                                          There is not one fifth generation pure vegan tribal society anywhere in the world. Most vegetables prior to their domestication were high in anti-nutrients and were treated as starvation foods by tribal societies. look at this vid:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_E3iMrq-UA                                                                                                                                                                     This MD explains why humans are super carnivores:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RLlpPf22-E&t=5s

  4. How about the fact that the place in the US where there are the longest living adults is Loma Linda CA? This is the home of vegetarians in the US because it's the only Seventhday Adventist enclave in the world. They have very low cardiovascular disease. Other places where people live that long are places where vegetables and often fish are their diet. Of course in Loma Linda there is few that drink and smoke, so it could be that instead.

  5. This diet works for him and his current lifestyle
If you are not on a super high energy diet then this is not likely to be good for you — it would likely do massive damage to most humans over a short period of time (5 yrs).

A balanced diet is the right approach for the overwhelming majority of humans.

  6. I'm interested in the carnivore subject. I'm a carnivore in my genetics I'm sure. I only like meat, greens and nuts I cannot eat anything that tastes sweet. I cannot eat any chocolate nor any sweet taste at all. I don't crave anything other than meat. I love meat and greens and nuts. That's it. I love rare or med rare meats except chicken. I would eat raw fish but the system has been bad for fish too so I think they need to be heated. I love dove. I can eat frog, any seafood. But I cannot eat pastas, breads, sweets, not even stevia taste. My mother hunted pheasant and deer, squirrel and hunted for bear , sought mushrooms, fished. My daughter hunts deer, fishes all kinds of fish in Florida. Hunts the mushrooms, in Illinois hunts deer in the west. I do not eat fruit. If it grows on a bush like berries I feel that's better but I don't like the sweetness. My dessert is a boiled egg, more meat, nuts. Greens. I'm Native American with Mexican and a bit of French. Cherokee Indian. My son is the same. He loves and craves rare meat. He turns down veggies, bread makes him sick, sugars make him sick. We are a strange breed I think. Eating like this is natural for us. This is who we are.

  7. Your lats must be huge from all that rowing. I have 2 weeks into the carnivore diet and I feel better than ever. My strength gains at the gym are amazing, I feel better than before. Thank you for your inspiration Dr. Shawn!!

  8. Why are all the “quack”, “crazy”, “fringe” doctors super healthy, and all the other “normal” and “good” doctors sick and fat. Hmmmmm….

  9. After trying veganism, Gandhi declared vegans as enemies of India!
In 1946 he declared: "The crores of India today get neither milk nor ghee nor butter, nor even buttermilk. No wonder that mortality figures are on the increase and there is a lack of energy in the people. It would appear as if man is really unable to sustain life without either meat or milk and milk products. Anyone who deceives people in this regard or countenances the fraud is an enemy of India." 10. I am 67 3/4 .. 242 lbs.. female.. started keto May 2018. So far lost 35 lbs. .. now thinking about meat only.. Gained lots of weight bc blood sugar went up and I didn’t know it.. my dr said what are you doing about your high blood sugar.. came to find out blood tests said blood sugar was up but nurse never mentioned it when ever I got my results over the phone as I normally did.. also thinking I was eating healthier lots of whole grains etc and my asthma going out of control so tired could hardly walk to the door.. just got worse and worse.. went into hospital with asthma and almost did not come out.. .. came across all this keto and said .. that’s what I need.. I don’t want to have to go on diabetes meds.. so trying this and so far asthma so much better .. feel stronger.. I’m going to start strength training .. went to Disney sat on the floor and could not get up .. two men came to help me.. it was so sweet of them but I realized.. I’m in trouble.. I have to do something.. I want to be here and healthy for my grandchildren.. hopefully great grandchildren.. I may get old, but if I can I want to be as healthy as I can.. help others and not be a burden if at all possible..

  11. Wonderful interview, very informative. I've been keto for about 3 years now and am going to give the carnivore diet a go.
My personal take away from these types of interviews is do the complete opposite of what doctors and the main stream health gurus say and you will live a long and healthy life! I only wish my vegan friends would at least look at this data but I think they are too brainwashed and guilted over eating animals.

  12. Keto was cool for a while, it was so hard to eat veggies, then I found out I could live on my favorite food. It’s been a week, and my gums already stopped hurting. Ive had muscle mass return that I haven’t had since high school, and not even back in the gym yet. I’ve never been so satisfied with my diet

  13. I wonder if Vital Mind Psychology here on Youtube would be interested in helping with the study. He has never mentioned the carnivore diet to my knowledge, but he talks about some mineral deficiencies that are extremely common among people, especially empath type personalities who eat less or no meat. Especially Zinc and Magnesium, which are primarily found in meat diets. Our diets can play a huge role in our hormones and our psychologies and may explain why the US and other places are so mentally unstable lately.

  14. CARNIVORE (2 Meals a Day)
    Zero Carb Diet Plan

    Ghee 100%
    Tallow 100%
    Lard 100%
    Butter >82% fat
    >35% Cream fat
    Yogurt >10% fat
    Cheese >65% fat

    Ground Beef 35~65% fat
    Liver Pate
    Heart Liver Bacon Pate
    Spring Water
    Soda Water

  15. The benefits of carnivore diet sound great, but I'm thinking isn't it bad for your colon to be mostly "out of work"? What happens to gut bacteria on a carnivore diet? Recently it's been a growing belief that gut health has a direct link to overall health.

  16. I only feel healthy (mentally and physically) eating animal products, particularly meat. Keto helped me 80-90%, carnivore took care of the rest.

  17. My experience with doctors. I have thyroid nodules. I had 2 FNAs and 2 biopsies. The results came back inconclusive. The MD called me and wanted to set up a date to remove my thyroid. My thyroid hormones were in the normal range. I said no thanks and found a new endocrinologist. She is from India. She ordered another biopsy. She had the sample sent to a different lab. It came back benign. So, I still have my thyroid but my thyroglobulin is at 1295. No antibodies. Everything else is normal. I started the carnivore diet 3 days ago. I need to lose about 40 lbs. other than that, I feel great.
